Hell's Angels Take On New Boys In South Australia

South Australian Police say 10 Hells Angels armed with metal poles and chains confront members of the New Boys, according to a story on adelaidenow.com.

The Hells Angels left the scene in two cars - one of which was stopped by police but the other escaped.

Police are still searching for that car, a blue Ford sedan, the story said.

The three arrested Hell's Angels were all refused bail and were to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

This melee comes only a few months following a bombing at Enfield in February in which a Hells Angels associate and another man died.Tensions have been running high between the gangs since about 2008 when rival members were allegedly involved in a shootout, the article said.

Police believed the men were killed as they attempted to deliver a homemade bomb to a New Boys member who lived nearby.

Hundreds of Hells Angels members from around the world have converged on Adelaide for today's funeral of former member George Petroploulos, who, 44, died of a heart attack  last month.

Financier Laundered Dirty Money For Bikers

WINNIPEG, Canada--Court documents made public yesterday allege that Nello Chiapetta, the former Eastwood Truck and Toy Centre finance manager, was also the main man for city bikers looking to launder their ill-gotten gains.

"Chiapetta, 39, was among more than two dozen people arrested in Project Divide, a December 2009 police sting targeting the Hells Angels 'puppet club' known as the Zig-Zag Crew," reported the WinnipegSun.com.

Chiapetta, who is not a member of either gang, has been charged with two counts of laundering the proceeds of crime and one count of conspiracy to launder the proceeds of crime.

He remains innocent until proven guilty.

According to court documents, at least one city gangster, Hells Angels member Sean Wolfe, referred to Chiapetta as “the bank,” the article added.

Police say criminals involved in drug trafficking often use “nominees” to conceal ownership of property and hide assets.

Bandidos Bring Street Justice To Denmark

DENMARK--Local neighbours reportedly asked bikers to intervene when details emerged of sexual abuse of minors, as reported here.

Two men, aged 18 and 69, are currently being held in jail while the public prosecutor weighs up the charges against them for sexually abusing six young children.

But reports are emerging of vigilantism, when locals called in a biker gang to take action where they felt that social services were stalling. [Does this mean they will get a lighter sentence, because they already caught some street justice?]

Police in the West Zealand town of Fårevejle changed and extended the charges against the grandfather and grandson suspects on Tuesday, saying what occurred at their home went above and beyond indecent exposure. Local sources spoke to BT newspaper on the condition of anonymity and said that 'people in the neighbourhood knew well that something was wrong'.

The source said locals felt that authorities were not taking action after suspicions had been reported and so local bikers were called in to help.
The unidentified bikers waited at the man's house one evening before dragging him inside to beat him up, before also smashing up his swimming pool. The man allegedly used his swimming pool to lure his six victims.
The area is a stronghold for the Bandidos biker gang.

The six victims are all under the age of 12 and all have been subject to a video deposition so they will not have to face the accused in court.

The men were originally charged last September.

The annual rideout is now in its tenth year and sees the bikers travel to a different charity every Easter to drop off chocolate eggs and donations.

This year the rain held off and the weather played its part in attracting up to 120 motorcyclists from across Yorkshire to make the journey to the Snappy children's charity in York.

As well as dropping off dozens of eggs at Snappy's base on Lowther Street, the bikers have also raised over £3,000 for the charity so far, helped by a fundraising night at The Bay Horse, Kilham, on Easter Sunday night.

Hemet City 'Fortifies' Against Potential Vagos Attack

HEMET — City officials in Hemet will consider fortifying city buildings after a series of attacks against its police officers, according to a story in the MercuryNews.com.

City documents cite law enforcement intelligence indicating that city buildings such as the Police Department headquarters are the likely target of more attacks. The City Council on Tuesday is expected to consider a resolution to fortify its buildings.

In recent months a series of booby traps were directed at law enforcement in the area, including a gas line redirected to fill and potentially explode a drug task force office.

Last month authorities led raids on the Vagos motorcycle club described as an extreme threat against law enforcement. Authorities initially suspected the club was behind the attacks but have since said other groups may also be responsible.

In Spain, Four Angels Arrested For Murdering Lawyer Last October

Four members of Hell’s Angels were arrested last Tuesday in relation with the murder of  lawyer Juan José Martínez last October in Spain. The Hell’s Angels were arrested in the Valencia City of Torrent, Castellon and Murcia. "It is believed that one of those arrested actually shot Martinez, when he refused to hand over the money he had in the office in the road Ramon Gallud. They are three Spaniards and one Russian citizen, one of whom is a female. A firearm was found when their homes were inspected. It will now be analysed to see if it is the one used in the robbery, the article said.

Further arrests are expected.

According to the article, the robbery took place at midday. "The thieves pointed a gun at an employee and demanded that she hand them the money in the till. Her boss rushed to the reception to defend her. A single shot at short range went into his abdomen and destroyed an artery. The 54 year old lawyer bled to death, despite the 40 minutes ambulance workers worked to save his life. He left a widow and 2 children."

In 2009 22 members pf the Hells Angels from Spain were arrested.

Hells Angels Tell Tax Man 'Shove It'

MONTREAL - The Hells Angels has refused to pay taxes to the town of Trois-Rivières after police seized their bunker in a major anti-gang bust in 2009, according to a media report.

"The bunker is now off-limits to the gang, which must still pick up the tab for the property upkeep and municipal taxes," the report said.

The motorcycle gang owes $12,000 in municipal taxes for 2009, and has yet to make a tax contribution for 2010, authorities report.

The Hells Angeles also owe $6,000 in surveillance and maintenance charges on their property, which was seized during Project SharQc, authorities said.

Culminating in the arrests of 123 people, Operation SharQc involved a full-patch member of the gang turning informant.

"According to two sources familiar with the investigation, Sylvain Boulanger, an ex-sergeant-at-arms in the gang’s Sherbrooke chapter, supplied investigators with information about an important vote the gang’s Quebec membership held in July 1994," the report said.

Hells Angels across Quebec essentially voted in favour of engaging in a bloody turf war – with rival gangs like the Rock Machine and Dark Circle – that ran from 1994 to 2002 and involved the deaths of more than 160 people, including several innocent victims.

"In past investigations, the Regional Integrated Squads that investigate biker gangs could rely only on underlings lfor inside information. Having an actual full-patch member supply information about the gang’s operation has not been seen in decades," the article went on to say.

Vagos Arrested in San Francisco; Prompt Hemet County To Offer $200K Reward

San Francisco--At least 30 members of the Vagos Motorcycle Club were arrested in a multistate police raid that "brings new attention to the California-based gang known for its violent past," said a report in the Christian Science Monitor. Police in San Francisco may want to watch their backs in light of developments outside Los Angeles supposedly caused by the Vagos.

"The raids that reportedly took place in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California involved some 400 police officers. As many as 70 locations were hit in Southern California, where police seized weapons and drugs and discovered a methamphetamine lab," the article said.

The gang has “hundreds of members in the US and Mexico and poses a serious criminal threat to those areas in which its chapters are located,” according to the US Department of Justice.

The Vagos, also known as “Green Nation,” first formed in the late 1960s and has since been the subject of numerous investigations. In 2006, at least 25 Vagos members were arrested for various weapons and drug violations after a three-year investigation that the Orange County Register called one of the “largest coordinated law enforcement probes ever conducted in the region.”

Police at Hemet City Hall, a city of tract homes and trailer parks in Riverside County, about 80 miles east of Los Angeles, has all but said they are at war with the Vagos MC and has gone so far as to construct an iron fence around the Police Department downtown, “to prevent someone from lobbing a grenade or something in the window,” Police Chief Richard Dana said in an interview found here.

The trouble started for Hemet officials shortly after a gang task force began “putting pressure” on the Vagos motorcycle gang late last year by checking members for potential parole violations, said John Hall, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office, as outlined in the New York Times article.

Highwayman MC Go To Trial

Detroit -- Leaders of the Highwaymen MC "owned" Detroit and guarded what was theirs via threats and beatings.

So said  a federal prosecutor said Monday.

"But defense lawyers argued the real criminals jurors will see at the trial are the government's cooperating witnesses -- who they said received sweetheart deals in connection with their own illegal conduct and more than $100,000 in cash payments. This is the standard defense used in mob trials, where confidential informants are often used.

Founded in Detroit in 1954, the Highwaymen is Detroit's largest bike club, with chapters in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Indiana.

The racketeering trial for six alleged Highwaymen leaders -- the opening chapter in a case that involves more than 80 defendants in one of the largest indictments ever brought in the Eastern District of Michigan -- is expected to last about six weeks.

But Henry Scharg, an attorney for defendant Joseph "Little Joe" Whiting, described as national president of the Highwaymen:

• Share a love of motorcycles and the open road.
• They give to charities such as Toys for Tots and compared the group to "a Knights of Columbus on wheels."
